When you live alone with a 23mos toddler, you will be more creative in creating easy and quick recipes, at least this is what has happened to me during our life in Bremen. The one that I will share you the recipe is one of some of those recipes. I just named it Tumis Kohlrabi (Stir Fry Kohlrabi). The good news about cold weather is: it raises the appetite of my son, the bad news is: mine too 😀 In this such weather, soup never fails to keep us warm. Beef soup is one of my son fav, and he kept asking me “bibu, sup-nya mana?” (mommy, where is the soup?) when eating. His grandma (my mom) used to cook him this kind of soup, only with oxtail instead of beef shank. The one I share here is my own recipe as I need to cook something fast with less effort. Gott sei Dank it turned yummy and my little boss said...

Porridge and Colorful Veggie

Having a toddler around is really fun mainly when you love to experiment in the kitchen developing new recipe or modifying from the old one. Though sometimes the fun is coming along with frustrating too when your work in the kitchen is not suit to his* taste. I’m blessed for having a not picky eater son, but like any toddler in the world, he has his period when he doesn’t want to eat at all. My son loves to eat vegetables (I’m really a happy mommy); spinach, broccoli and green bean are his fav. I make them as soup, stir fry, casserole or hid them in any kind of nugget. Sometimes he is enjoying eating veggies only by steaming them. The recipe of colorful veggie below I created when he was on his I-don’t-want-to-eat-at-all period and it saved me...
