If you think that Pfannkuchen is the pancake you used to know, then you are wrong. But do not be sad, I thought so too. German Pfannkuchen is crรชpes, not like American pancake you see in the magazine or some foodie blogs around the net. I believe most kids in Germany likes to eat Pfannkuchen, at least this is what I heard from my friends. While Pfannkuchen is normally eaten for breakfast, at my son Kindergarten, he has Pfannkuchen for lunch. Last week before sleeping while hugging me, K asked me to make him Pfannkuchen for breakfast . Okay son, your wish is granted ๐Ÿ™‚ I used the recipe...

If I said I made this waffle, then you can call me Pinocchio. Yup, I lie if I said so ๐Ÿ™‚ This waffle was made by my good friend when I was staying in her house on my last visit to Germany. Every time she cooked this waffle, the house smell very nice. She told me that this waffle recipe is her hubby and son all time favorite. She said even her son’s friends will ask her to make this waffle whenever they spend the night there. I was so lucky to have a chance to taste it and it was indeed yummy. She told me that this recipe has been on trial for quite sometimes until she got the perfect one. She said the secret is in the instant vanilla sauce, it makes this recipe special. You can...

Donauwelle – My Craving Cake

Posted by on Aug 26, 2011 in Cake and Cookies, Dessert, European Culinary, Featured, Modified Culinary | 10 comments

Donauwelle was one of my craving foods during my pregnancy last two year. It was the main cause I gained 17kgs during my pregnancy. Yup! All my friends were jealous when I told them that I increased 8kgs up to the 7th months. I was carried away then loosing my control by baking this dangerously yummy cake twice (sometimes thrice) per week during the last two months of my pregnancy period. But never mind, I really enjoyed those days ๐Ÿ˜‰ The recipe below is the best one after trying various recipes I got from the internet. The dough, the vanilla pudding and the ganache are just perfect. When you follow the direction and use the correct ingredients, you’ll get the ideal donauwelle even on your first try. Believe me, some of my friends had tried it and got success....
