Sudah dua minggu ini, hari Selasa menjadi hari yang paling dinanti K, anak saya, karena artinya Bibu (saya) akan masak masakan istimewa. Sebelum teman-teman membayangkan betapa repotnya saya pergi belanja dan memilih bahan makanan yang segar dan berkualitas, saya kasih tau aja ya.. bahwa yang saya lakukan hanya duduk manis di rumah, semua yang saya butuhkan akan sampai di rumah saya dengan selamat diantarkan oleh kurir yang ramah dan bisa diandalkan. Pfannkuchen (German Pancake)

If you think that Pfannkuchen is the pancake you used to know, then you are wrong. But do not be sad, I thought so too. German Pfannkuchen is crêpes, not like American pancake you see in the magazine or some foodie blogs around the net. I believe most kids in Germany likes to eat Pfannkuchen, at least this is what I heard from my friends. While Pfannkuchen is normally eaten for breakfast, at my son Kindergarten, he has Pfannkuchen for lunch. Last week before sleeping while hugging me, K asked me to make him Pfannkuchen for breakfast . If I said I made this waffle, then you can call me Pinocchio. Yup, I lie if I said so 🙂 This waffle was made by my good friend when I was staying in her house on my last visit to Germany. Every time she cooked this waffle, the house smell very nice. She told me that this waffle recipe is her hubby and son all time favorite. Porridge and Colorful Veggie

Having a toddler around is really fun mainly when you love to experiment in the kitchen developing new recipe or modifying from the old one. Though sometimes the fun is coming along with frustrating too when your work in the kitchen is not suit to his* taste. I’m blessed for having a not picky eater son, but like any toddler in the world, he has his period when he doesn’t want to eat at all. My son loves to eat vegetables (I’m really a happy mommy); spinach, broccoli and green bean are his fav. I make them as soup, stir fry, casserole or hid them in any kind of nugget.
