Taman Pakubuwono 6 No. 11.

Posted by on Dec 7, 2015 in DMBLGIT, Featured, Kitchenette | 0 comments

It’s been almost 4 years that I hosted this monthly food photography event, called by some as “the grandest foodporn event available” on the web. It was DMBLGiT Feb 2012 edition, at that time, Andrew of Spittoon Extra, still in charge of DMBGLiT. After long hiatus, Neel of Learn Food Photography re-launching this event. As foodie that owe so much to this event, I am so happy that DMBLGiT is back. I met and befriended with some amazing foodie bloggers around the world from DMBLGiT. As a self-taught food photographer, DMBLGiT gallery was my literature. I studied how a beautiful photo was taken by observing participants photos, especially the winners. Thought I am no longer join as participant (my last badge was in Sept 2009), but I am always exciting to know who the winners of each month edition...

Pas banget deh, udahpun saya gak fotojenik (itulah salah satu alasan kenapa saya jadi tukang foto), berantakan pulak, komplit deh πŸ˜€...

Posted by on Nov 23, 2015 in Featured, Indonesian Culinary, Kitchenette, Vegetarian | 0 comments

When it comes to asinan bengkuang (pickled jicama) the yummiest one was the one made by my neighbor. Not only its taste, but the memory behind it, a beautiful and happy childhood, when life was simpler that prevent me from moving on. Unfortunately, she (my neighbor) has retired from making and selling it and left me in forever searching. Until one day, my sister came home brought me a packaged of asinan bengkuang. At first, I was skeptical..afraid of having a broken heart if the taste is not good as the one my neighbor made. Still I gave it a try and I was happy! This is it! My childhood’s fav food. By the way, do you know that JΓcama is high in carbohydrates in the form of dietary fiber. It is composed of 86–90% water; it contains only...
